What we collect

When you register for the free video series we collect your first name, your last name, your email address, your mobile number, and your student’s expected graduation year. That is everything the form asks for.

If you choose to send in an exercise from one of the videos, we collect whatever you write and, where you attach one, the photo you upload.

Like most websites we also receive standard technical information such as your browser type and approximate location, and we use the Facebook pixel described below.

Why we collect it

To send you the video series you asked for, and occasional related email from Barbara Leventhal about her college-admissions work.

To let Barbara read and respond to the exercises you send her.

To measure whether our advertising is reaching the right families.

Who else sees it

Your contact details are stored in HighLevel, the customer-relationship platform used to send the emails. Uploaded photos are stored with Vercel, which hosts this site.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Text messages

We will only text you if you ticked the box on the registration form asking us to. Ticking it is optional — you receive the whole video series by email whether you tick it or not.

If you did tick it, you may receive occasional text messages from Barbara Leventhal about the video series and her Application Fast Track program. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell mobile numbers. The only companies that ever see your number are the ones we use to send the messages, and they may not use it for anything else.

Facebook pixel

This site uses the Meta (Facebook) pixel. It tells us how many people who saw an advertisement went on to register, so we can stop paying for advertising that does not work. It does not tell us who you are personally.

You can limit this in your Facebook ad settings, or by using your browser’s tracking protection.

Keeping it, and getting rid of it

We keep your details for as long as you want to hear from us. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and replying STOP to any text stops the texts.

To have your information deleted entirely, email barb@barbaraleventhal.com and we will remove it.

Children

This series is written for parents. We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 13.
